Im PiP 2 ein Formationsflug (von gesamt 7 DC 3 + 2 viermotorigen Oldtimern).
Die Douglas DC-3 der Douglas Aircraft Company, wurde von 1935 an in großer Stückzahl gebaut - sowohl für zivile als auch für militärische Zwecke (Truppentransporter). Insgesamt wurden 16.079 Stück (607 Zivil- und 15.472 Militärmaschinen) gefertigt; bis heute die höchste Anzahl für ein Passagier- oder Transportflugzeug.
