Wonderful photo and lots of food for thought. One of my pleasures as a photographer is making photo cards for friends and it saddens me to think that I'm becoming a dinosaur! It seems its only my generation who still like to send out a card for a birthday or Christmas, and I also use e-cards, so I shouldn't complain.

Früher, als ich ein Kind war, habe ich Ansichtskarten gesammelt. Das war spannend und hat Reiselust gemacht. Auch später noch habe ich von allen meinen Reisen Ansichtskarten an meine alten Eltern daheim geschickt. Die habe ich alle "zurück geerbt", als ich vor Jahren die letzte Wohnung meiner Mutter aufgelöst habe. Das war eine so schöne Überraschung: wo ich alles gewesen bin in den vielen Jahren! Und was ich dort alles erlebt hatte ! An manche Orte oder Ereignisse hatte ich selbst keinerlei Erinnerung mehr - dank der alten Ansichtskarten kam die Erinnerung zurück.
Solche emotionalen Erlebnisse werden unsere Kinder/Enkel nicht mehr haben. Alles, was digital/online gespeichert ist, wird irgendwann vergessen sein ...
Auf meinen letzten Reisen (Baltikum, Skandinavien) ist mir aufgefallen, dass es immer schwieriger wird, noch "traditionell" Ansichtskarten zu schreiben: an manchen Orten gibt's schon keine Ansichtslarten mehr, oder es gibt keine Briefmarken zu kaufen, oder es gibt einfach keinen Briefkasten mehr. Schade.

Leider lässt sich diese Entwicklung nicht aufhalten. Und ich denke, sie lässt sich auf Fotoalben übertragen. Wer macht sich denn heute noch die Mühe, welche anzulegen?
