Martin Luther King Bridge

Originally named Veterans Bridge when it was built in 1951, it was renamed the Martin Luther King Bridge for King in 1968 after the national civil rights leader was assassinated that year. It spans the Mississippi River between Illinois and Missouri, crossing into St. Louis at the Laclede's Landing area.
