One Spooky Night At The Broken Spoke Saloon

The band I was in at the time was touring the eastern half of the United States. This night's stop happened to be in Nashville, Tennessee. When we finished playing and got back to the hotel we were staying at, I went out looking for things to take pictures of. I saw this eerie scene in front of the hotel's restaurant and bar.

Cheap Americana for sure! My late mother bought some western-theme art from one of those places that always send out catalogues of that.... cheap junk. One of the signs they sold used the generic name of "Broken Spoke Saloon" and she had it hanging in her bathroom. It's my thought that this "Broken Spoke Saloon" in Nashville only chose that name because they could buy the same signs for inside their restaurant as my mother did, thereby avoiding paying the much higher costs of sign painters.
