1955 Golden Anniversary Oldsmobile

Some of you might recognize this car, believe me, it has a story. In 1975, Burt Reynolds was a hot commodity and starred in a movie called "W.W. And The Dixie Dance Kings." For his car in the motion picture, the studio created a custom "1955 Golden Anniversary Oldsmobile." The thing is, there was no such actual car in 1955. This model, which I saw at the Spring Car Show at the White County Fairgrounds, in 1998, is a pretty good copy, except that in the movie, Burt drove a 4-Door version, (which should have been a 2-Door), and this one has only 2 doors. Also, in the movie, Burt's car sported full disc hubcabs instead of wire wheels like this one. So, while it's not an exact copy, it's pretty close and a very nice custom to boot! I just love this car and I always have.
