Applecross

Applecross
This is Applecross one of the biggest settlements on the remote Applecross peninsula,
We arrived to typical weather from the North which a long but beautiful journey past Lochs and Mountains, (1pip)

Our road south tomorrow will take us onto Scotland's best driving road via "Bealach na Ba" (626m) and the "Applecross Pass",
Twisty roads, hairpin bends, windy streams, beautiful views all feature on the road down to sea level

Smiley Derleth, Erhard Bernstein, Percy Schramm, Nouchetdu38 and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

The pub at the end of the promenade, I think. Can't remember going in but we might have sat outside. Yes a bit of excitement going over the Applecross Pass to come.

Thanks for sharing in the North Coast 500 Group, Herb

Interesting comments Herb, thank you,
The first time we did the pass back in 2009 (I think) no safety barriers in those days and passing places were few and far between, but it made for an interesting ride, ;-))

Thank you, Colin, the pass can be a nightmare these days,
Last time we met many camper vans but eventually ended up following a fast moving mobile butcher in a converted Ice Cream van who obviously knew the road well!

That was lucky, it’s awful following someone on winding single track road that is even more nervous than I am :-)
Just found a couple more from the area I’ll post some.

I look forward to seeing them, Colin,
I have newer images but rather like the moods of these older shots.
