It's definitely seen better days........I'm surprised you weren't called out much earlier! A cracking shot though, full of lovely detail.

It was a farm building on the edge of town in those days, now the town boundary is a mile or so away, and at least I have some photos.

Leave the problem to New House building firms, they will build structure, which all look the same, like the ones at the side of the image. !!

Manchmal leiden die Gebäude an den Besitzverhältnissen, entweder besteht eine Erbengemeinschaft oder die Besitzer wohnen weit weg. Oder aber es besteht kein Interesse an dem Erhalt eines massiven Gebäudes.
Wenn das Dach erst eingestürzt ist, ist Vorsicht geboten.

Wonderful and interesting composition
Great story. It does make you wonder how long it must have bee in that state before you got there.. Looking on Streetview it would appear it was due for demolition anyway to make way for a new housing estate, the first of which are visible in the background of your picture.

Many thanks Peter, It was I understand due for restoration which I have to assume was exactly what the builders may not have wanted, so it was left to fall apart, The end section collapsing on the day of my visit was enough to get the lovely old building condemned, It was now passed economic restoration costs!
