Pale Tussock Moth

Looking up my ref book it has similarities to a Garden Carpet (Xanthorhoe Fluctuata), I would be happy to stand corrected though.

Hi Roger; had a look through a guide, looks to be similar to one of the 'Kitten' moths, could be a Sallow or Poplar Kitten. Markings on the Poplar look closer to me.

Some tits aren't at the moment. Lately two of them seemed exhausted. One of them slept a long time in a manger near the kitchen door, then flied away. The second one was sleeping ... in the grass ! at the foot of a manger. Took her a moment in the kitchen, then put it in the manger. She slept there a long time too and disappeared. But I found her died this morning at the door of the kitchen (:o((. Wonder what is happening to them. Are they coming from far away or just suffering of the too hot weather... ?
And this afternoon I had to take a young sparrow which was prisoner in the garage ...

That is sad Christiane, exhaustion from feeding young perhaps, no fear of overheating in this part of the world we have experienced heavy and prolonged thunder storms for the past few days and still more promised for the next two,
