A workshop replaced the faulty alternator in our car on a Saturday morning in a town 400km from home. We were grateful for this. However they dropped a bolt where it eventually, about a year later, caused the radiator to fail. I had noticed the water level drop slightly for some months before it increased to where it was obvious. I had to buy and fit a replacement radiator. September 2016.

PNG Holiday0001

A scan of a print of a slide. I am standing on the rear of the fuselage facing forward. The location was somewhere north west of Madang in PNG. The name is long forgotten. My best guess at ID is a Nakajima KI-49, with Allied code name 'Helen'. At this Japanese WWII airstrip a bit to the left of the photo there was a single engined plane 'parked' parallel with this one in a similar state of abandonment and decay. 1983. PS: Now I've found it was Alexishafen Airfield.
