The 'bin' held by the crane is the hopper part of an old style coal wagon. You can see the wheels and frame of the wagon to the left of the loco.

As one who watched it all it is obvious... Glad you mentioned it so I could mention the difficult to see rest of the wagon so all can understand the shot.
