Parthenon and Athenian Owl

Greek "Owls" were first struck in Athens around 500 BC...Athena's symbol, the owl, now an international symbol of wisdom. The letters 'AOE'--or more precisely, "Alpha Theta Epsilon" or "Athe"--form an abbreviation of "Athens".
