In front is the (ice) Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto (1886. Darling & Curry). It was originally a bank. The building on the left is the Canada Trust Tower (1990, Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill; Santiago Calatrava; Bregman + Hamann).

Denis Croissant, Marije Aguillo, raingirl, Paolo Tanino and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

I spent much of my working life evaluating programs for people with brain injuries, Laura, so I'm not happy with the violence, either, especially all the crosschecking to the head. They have cut down on that but, like Canadian and American football, the game still seems designed to create head trauma.

And why I envy people who live in Europe, Denis. The juxtapositions in Norwich Market, for example, are fascinating. And then you can turn into the Royal Arcade and suddenly be in an art nouveau fantasy.
