I'll refrain from making my ususl comments. But this would make an interesting b&w abstract, with the blue a pure white, and everything else black or gray.

An interesting idea, Bob. Thanks. I'll give it a go.

Normal here, though, Lutz. I suspect it would be better overall if they were buried, but Canadians are so cheap they won't even spend money that will save them money in the long run. But we do get all this lovely sculpture.

Yes, I remember from my years in LA. We were lucky back then, because we had actually buried cabling in our residential area. No problems, no outages :-)

In Canada you have the added problem of restoring power to large areas after ice storms and high winds. Buried power lines would probably pay for themselves soon enough. And the blackout of 2003, which cut off power to 55 million people in Canada and the US, was caused by contact between overhead power lines and trees in Ohio.

Ich erinnere mich an solche Kabelmasten aus meiner Kindheit. In Deutschland sind alle Kabel unter der Erde, außer Hochspannungsleitungen.

They're slowly burying them here, Wilhelm, but very slowly. New neighbourhoods do have buried cables.
