Norwich Market

Norwich Market
Norwich Market has operated continuously on this spot since the mid-eleventh century (sometime between 1066 and 1086). City Hall is on its west side and the Guildhall on the north. This was taken around lunchtime so imagine a pleasing aroma of frying fish.

Amelia, Will S., Andrew Trundlewagon, Fred Fouarge and 7 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very nice (I actually got married in Norwich although I never lived there)

Thanks, Andrew. I've only visited myself. If I didn't have relatives in North Norfolk I'd probably never have gone there at all, which would have been a loss.

It's always a popular spot for people to sit and eat various foodstuffs, but unfortunately there is also a lot of litter and grease spots on the paving, and the area is very attractive to pigeons which are a plague.

You can see why more popular places want fewer tourists, Amelia. And the day I took this people were eating on the war memorial. I much prefer the cafe in the Guildhall.
