CN Tower #8

CN Tower #8
CN Tower, Toronto,

Yes, it's not straight. Pretend you've tilted your head.

More shots of the tower and some information about it:

An unusual perspective for the tower.

Thanks, Bob. Yes, that's the tower with the glass floor. When I was a younger man (60 or so). I had no qualms about standing on the glass. I went up a few years ago with Paul Aningat (Canadian Son on Flickr), though, and it took me a few minutes to persuade myself to get on it. Paul had no problem, though, even though the tower's a bit taller than anything in Arviat (Nunavut) where he's from.

Today this walk is filled with trees and bushes, so I fear the shadows have disappeared.

Toronto's full of them, Esther. You can see the tower from an extensive area. I have a shot of it from 12 km/7 mi away in Etobicoke (the westernmost part of Toronto) across Lake Ontario. You can see it across the lake 65 km/40 mi away in Hamilton. Promotional photos seem to use only a few of the many possible points of view, though.

I'd never thought about that before, so thanks for bringing it up. It reminds me of my stupefaction on first seeing the Houses of Parliament in London. Their photos don't do them justice.
