My apologies to everyone whose comments I managed to lose.These included comments about the grace of the streetcar/tram wires, the attractiveness of the tower, and of Keith Burton's visit as a sailor in 1984, I had agreed that the tower was better-looking than many other towers and that the wires added interest to the view, and noted in response to Keith that I enjoyed visiting the tower myself.

I think I said something along the lines of the tower is still looking good after all these years and that I don't mind the wires at all.

I remember visiting Toronto and going up to the top of the tower in 1984 whilst I was serving onboard HMS Bristol and that it was a frightening experience, but worth doing. I recall that the ship's detachment of Royal Marines abseiled down from the top!

And I replied, I think, that I vaguely remembered the Royal Marines abseiling down the tower, and that I always enjoy visiting there. I didn't mention that I actually watched the tower go up from my desk at the old Toronto Board of Education. We had a big window that faced south and got to watch it going up and the spire being added by the world's largest helicopter. Thanks for restoring your comment, Keith, and I'll try not to lose any more.

Many people hate the streetcar wires here, Esther, but to me they're like sculpture. Come to think of it, the tower has a Brancusi-esque air to it, to my mind, abyway.
