this photo by John FitzGerald

March 23, 2013, in Toronto. We were having a more normal March then.

I prefer the large size. Type Z to see what you think. After you type Z you can then click on the frame at upper right to get a full-screen view.

Toronto is so grey, Ulrich, that you sometimes have to take extreme measures when photographing it.

I really like your perspective............even though it made my head spin when I opened the thumbnail. Definitely needs to be viewed large as you suggested.

The light and shadows on the steps are amazing!

Thanks, Keith. As I mentioned to Ulrich, Toronto's so grey you sometimes have to go to great lengths to male it interesting.

Sharp eyes, Sarah. Always good for photography. Hadn't noticed that myself.

The stone stairs are really interesting because of their expression.

There was a department store with a marble staircase in my living area, but it was destroyed when they renovated it....

The tunnels that run under these buildings are lined with marble, kiiti -- they run through one bank headquarters after another. Marble stairs would probably still be a luxury even there, though.
