Golden domes of Tsarskoye Selo

The "Catherine Palace" just South of Saint Petersburg was the summer residence of the Russian tsars. These are the bulb domes on top of the palace chapel.
Deliberately destroyed during the war by retreating German troops, the Palace and park has now been almost completely restored to it's former splendor.
Visiting lavish palaces like this always leaves me with pity for the impoverished serfs that had to pay for it, but I have to admit it is a very impressive part of Russia's history.
