san francisco, 1966-69

Cut-paper collage postcard created for scrapiteria weekly challenge: "The Sixties."
I was a teenager in the late '60s & early '70s, so I strongly identify with that period. Among all the exciting graphics during that time, the ones that stirred me the most were the bizarre, swirly, sometimes indecipherable letters on rock-n-roll posters.
I can't give exact credits for the images on this postcard, but they are all taken from posters for Bill-Graham-produced concerts in San Fran, '66-'69. The poster artists of that period included Wes Wilson, Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, Bonnie MacLean, Lee Conklin, Greg Irons, Randy Tuten, and David Singer.
