chilly water

Cut-paper collage postcard created for Karl.
Foreground: White oblong is designer George Nelson's propellor lamp. Vertical blue oblong is part of an artist's conception of Stenopterygius quadriscissus, a ten-foot-long ichthyosaur.
Background: Aqua -blue piece on the bottom is from Amedeo Modigiliani's "Girl with a Braid." Middle section is from a topographic map of the waters off the Oregon coast. Pieces on the left & at the top are from a fashion layout in Interview magazine.
Oxygen atoms in fossil teeth show that plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs had internal temperatures of 95 to 102 degrees, even in chilly water.
