Schon im 15. Jahrhundert wurde auf dem Mont Ventoux die erste Kapelle errichtet. Diese war nach dem Ende der Hugenottenkriege nur noch eine Ruine. Eine zweite Kapelle stand bis zur Mitte des 20. Jh. Die jetzige Chapelle Sainte Croix. wurde am 1.7.1956 eingeweiht.

Als ich die Aufnahme gemacht habe war ich motorisiert unterwegs, Walter. Aber als ich vor ca. 20 Jahren das erste Mal auf den Ventoux wollte, bin ich von Bedouin aus hoch gewandert. Ich konnte mir aus dem damaligen Kartenmaterial nicht vorstellen, dass man dort auch mit einem Kfz hoch fahren darf. Das war irre!
