Auf der Lauer
Die Erdmännchen leben in Gruppen bis zu 10 Tieren. Während ein Teil der Kolonie auf Nahrungsuche nach Insekten und und kleineren Vögeln und Eidechsen sind, wachen die anderen Mitglieder aufrecht sitzend oder stehend und halten Ausschau nach Feinden. Die Wache wechselt mehrmals am Tag ihre Mitglieder aus.
