Lutterzand is a nature reserve situated in the most eastern part of the Netherlands, nearby the German border. This beautiful area consists of 750 hectares of pine forests, juniper bushes, heathlands, flat moorland and sand drifts through which the Dinkel river runs. The Dinkel meanders through the area, creating beautiful shores and steeply eroded banks. Along the winding river natural sand cliffs - up to eight meters high - have been cut out by the erosion. Even the oldest and firmest trees eventually perish, drifting off in the current.

They fit together like a puzzle.......

We are at a guest house in Blanding, Utah, and here is a photo from our trip. We spent yesterday morning in Canyonlands and did the short hike to Mesa Arch at sunrise. It was spectacular with the La Sal Mountains in the distance and the canyon of the Colorado River below. We've been in Goblin Valley State Park, to Moonscape Overlook and Factory Butte, Arches National Park and the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. We are headed for Monument Valley today and Antelope Canyon tomorrow and then to Death Valley for a week.

Yesterday we did the 17 mile drive through Monument Valley. This is the view from the North Window. We also visited Sand Island to see the petroglyphs there and Navaho National Monument to see the Betatakin cliff dwelling there. Today we go to Antelope Canyon and then to Las Vegas to pick up our oldest daughter at the airport before driving on to Death Valley.

Tintin indique au chauffeur de taxi la voiture qu'il faut poursuivre..... On peut remarquer le célèbre tableau de bord en plastique si caractéristique de ce modèle.

Le capitaine haddock veut aller acheter du tabac....sous bonne garde... Le général Tapioca, président-dictateur de la République de San Theodoros met à sa disposition cette luxueuse limousine. D'inspiration mixte: Mercedes 600 et sa "rivale" soviétique de l'époque, la ZIL. La calandre et la plaque d'immatriculation évoquent la fameuse moustache du dictateur de la Bordurie, Plekszy-Gladz, allié du général Tapioca..........

Winters in Britain aren’t what they used to be. Here is a shot from December 2010 taken at the edge of my home town of Oldham. I worked not far from here and as it was my lunch break I quickly drove to a known beauty area only about a five minute drive away.
