Bhaktapur Tractor

These vehicles were quite common in Bhaktapur, Nepal and were used for transporting light goods. They seemed a bit unwieldy for the narrow roads, though. IMG_0670

Bhaktapur butcher shop

Nothing says fresh meat than a street vender who cuts it to order. Of course, it sits outdoors without benefit of refrigeration and it is subject to passing insects. There is no running wather to wash hands either. Bhaktapur in Nepal was founded in the 12th century and was the capital city of the Greater Malla Kingdom until the 15th century.
