Hint: Perhaps there is a Shakespearean connection here? Or maybe Hardy...? (not the one who kissed Nelson)
I think on balance Shakespeare (but you never know for sure).
This is masquerading as The Blasted Heath near Dunsinane (although Egdon Heath was a strong contender). However, I strongly suspect that this is actually Strokur geysir in Iceland and as such is not a valid GWUK entry...
