(hmm, need to add more pics, and maybe even some words...) Basically, glass rods are melted in a flame; the glass is wound around thin metal rods, beads are shaped using heat and gravity, and various graphite or metal tools.
These beads are more decorative than functional - the little one is around 5" long, the biggest just over 10".
