A touching moment
There wasn't a dry eye in the house (or among Jacklyn Bode's friends, who were standing nearby). The necklace Jean Bode is wearing is one Jacklyn made for her in kindergarten.

Not commencing just yet
Young John, 6, from Dayton, did not actually himself graduate -- he just kept the headgear warm for his mom, a nursing student who would graduate in the afternoon ceremony, as he played on the Civil War Memorial on College Green.

Students leave much behind
A lot of furniture and other items that probably have stories to
tell were left on this and other Mill Street lawns. They were quickly gone through by area residents scavenging for saleable or useful goods.
