Tuesday 18 April 2023 (1353) – Arriva Midlands North 3697 (YJ12 PLU), an Optare Versa V1170 new in July 2012 allocated to Shrewsbury garage, seen in the High Street, Bridgnorth.

Having worked the 1245 service 436 from Shrewsbury this was now the 1348 service 9 to Wolverhampton. The normal working pattern for the buses working this service is Shrewsbury-Bridgnorth service 436/Bridgnorth-Wolverhampton and return on service 9/Bridgnorth-Shrewsbury service 436. Each segment is around one hour therefore a four hour round trip.

Just visible in the background is 2142 (MX12 CEY), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D new in April 2012 allocated to Telford garage, working the 1350 service 113 to Telford.

Bridgnorth Town Hall occupies a central position in the High Street. Completed in 1652 it is an oak framed hall mounted on stone pillars. The area beneath the hall still provides covered accommodation for market traders almost 500 years later.

I have enjoyed many long weekends in Shrewsbury and always stay in the same B&B in the lovely St John's Street. The next time we are there maybe we can make the trip to Bridgnorth. It looks beautiful in your pictures. The market building is lovely, but a bit of a squeeze for busses.

There are some very old and interesting properties around the town Rosa. It is certainly worth a visit.
