Stanley Gath (NX contractor) H399 YCP at Wellington St Coach Station, Leeds - 19 Oct 1991

Stanley Gath (NX contractor) H399 YCP at Wellington St Coach Station, Leeds - 19 Oct 1991
Saturday 19 October 1991 (approx 1725) – The National Express coach station at Wellington Street, Leeds became increasingly congested as coaches got larger. It originated as a West Yorkshire Road Car Company property (in the 1950s?) and even on the busiest days was overstretched. Nearby land had to be utilised for the numerous seaside bound coaches. I remembered the 'lollipops' sign from childhood days. National Express liveried H399 YCP, a Plaxton Paramount bodied Leyland Tiger operated by Stanley Gath of Dewsbury, was working the 1510 Hull-Manchester Airport service 362. The Scottish Citylink liveried coach was E346 EVH, a Van Hool Acron bodied DAF SB3000, operated by MacPherson Coaches of Donisthorpe, which was working the 0755 Aberdeen-Cambridge Scottish Citylink service 236.
