PIP: l'Aiguille creuse, la Porte d'Aval et le soleil couchant

Quand j'ai vu les falaises d'Etretat, j'ai pensé à Claude Monet qui les a peintes souvent, entre 1883 à 1886 (voir PiP de gauche). J'ai voulu mettre ma touche personnelle on y ajoutant cette lanterne. When I saw the cliffs of Etretat, I thought to Claude Monet who painted them often, between 1883 to 1886 (see left PiP). I wanted to put my personal touch by adding this lantern.

Il est posé là, au bout du sillon qui ne la relie à la terre qu’à marée basse. A ce moment seulement, avec la marée descendante. on peut s'y rendre à pied. It sits there, at the end of the small headland that connects it to the land at low tide. Only then, when the tide is falling, you can cross over on foot. Sie sitzt dort, am Ende der kleinen Landzunge, die sie nur bei Ebbe mit dem Land verbindet. Erst dann, bei absteigender Ebbe, kann man die Überquerung zu Fuss machen.

The old pier and the Lieutenancy in Honfleur/Normandy

Honfleur is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port (Vieux Bassin), characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet forming the "école de Honfleur" (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement.

Côte sauvage 'Old Head" près de Kinsale

The "Old Head" of Kinsale was formed by differential erosion. An outcrop of hard sandstone is lodged between two layers of shale. The shale is eroded by marine action at a faster rate than the sandstone. The sandstone anticlines were much more resistant to erosion than the slate filled synclines. Thus over time the headland was formed rolling hills and green countryside

Le jardin exotique de Roscoff présente environ 3500 espèces et variétés de plantes originaires de l’hémisphère sud.
