Digger in a sunbeam
I was walking my dog, Digger, in my local woods when he was suddenly lit up by the low sun - he glowed like a lamp! Luckily I had my phone in my hand so I was able to snap this before he moved.
The Glen of Sorrow
This is a mobile shot of this lone tree that stands near the top of the Glen of Sorrow in the Ochil Hills. It is one of my favourite walks in these parts. The low sun streams down through the gap in the hills leaving long shadows.
Amongst the trees
This is a picture taken with my mobile during an evening walk in September on a regular route through an old wood of Beech trees. The sun lit up the undergrowth around this characterful tree.
Orchid in the hills
This is a picture taken with my mobile. It's always good to see an orchid and I found this in the Ochil hills. In June I'm always looking.
Lairig Leacach in Winter
This is a mobile shot. We decided to walk up the Lairig Leacach pass to the bothy in the snow. It usually takes 1.5 hours, but it took us three hours to get here. Everything was buried, including the rivers, so we had to melt snow over the fire - Luckily we bought coal! We reached the bothy just as it was getting dark. You can see my friend in the doorway
Bothy water
This is the burn (stream) that runs past the Lairig Leacach Bothy, the peak in the background is called Stob Ban. We used this as our water source when we stayed there. This bothy is maintained by the Mountain bothy association and it is open for anyone to stay there as a shelter.
Tay Estuary
This is the south shore of the River Tay estuary heading westward from Balmerino. There is a delightful strip of broad leaved trees along this bank that is part of the Fife Coastal path. It was a lovely day to visit here.
Dumyat
This is a mobile shot I took on my walk last week to climb to the top of this hill which is called Dumyat. I live near here so generally try and climb it weekly to keep my hill fitness up. This picture was taken on my way back to my car near the wonderful little village of Blairlogie.
Heading home
I took this picture with my phone whilst heading back to my car after climbing my local hill, Dumyat. The sun was setting and it made for a delightful walk.
