Thanks so much for your visit and kind comment Güni. For this shot I got lucky. The bird was about 30 meters away, so I took a chance. The light was very good, I zoomed in to max, and took four shots of which this is the best.

I do like grey herons, they look so elegant but it not so easy to get that close!
