Halogen lamp socket? I recall seeing something similar as this. I guess there is wire attached to secure the lamp cover/glass, so it wont fall when detached.

Sorry,I don´t know what´s going wrong with the picture. I dried it again, placed it above. - You were already right with the idea: Halogen lamp socket, but it is no car lamp...
