Die Strasse nach/von 'Ritsem', der Ritsemvägen, ist eigentlich eine 150 Kilometer lange Sackgasse.
Die Strasse führt am Stora Lulevatten vorbei, von Gällivare kommend bis Stora Sjöfallet ist sie meist problemlos zu befahren.
Während der Schneeschmelze muss allerdings immer mit Schneematsch- und Schlammlawinen gerechnet werden, die die Strasse unpassierbar machen.
