Buenos Aires - Av. 9 de Julio

View from Hotel Bristol to Av. 9 de Julio. I've freshly scanned around 1000 slides from the Argentina trip in January/February 2000. All scans have been postprocessed with photoshop and addons and geotagged as accurate as possible (a lot of work).
Ankogel - 3252 m

|
|
The image before showed the Ankogel in the far background and I remembered an ascent on 11.09.1977 to this summit, about 44 years ago. The main image shows a friend of mine, the PiP myself. Not really the right weather for such a tour. - scanned slide
Niedere and Hohe Tauern

Radstädter Tauern in the foreground (the mountains are the most western part of "Niedere Tauern", limestone) and Ankogel-group in the background (part of "Hohe Tauern", granite). This is a view from Seekarspitze to south-west.

Radstädter Tauern - view from Seekarspitze. While I'm standing on pure granite, the view goes to the limestone mountains Mosermandl and Faulkogel.

Niedere Tauern from ascent to Seekarspitze, view to ENE east-northeast.
The mountains along the horizon have an altitude of about 2500 to 2800 müA and are part of the wonderful "Schladminger Tauern".

Early HFF and a happy weekend everybody ;-)
I'm away for about 9 days, so I will most probably not visiting Ipernity. Have a good time and stay safe ;-)

The "Middle Landschitz Lake" (Mittlerer Landschitzsee) at an elevation of 1973 m is one of the three Landschitz lakes. The Landschitz creek is a tributary to the Lessach creek.
Hochgolling - bench with a view
|
|
|

The view from this wonderful place (about 2000 m) in the Landschitz valley leads to the highest peak of the "Niedere Tauern". You see the east face of Hochgolling, 2862 m, to the left the south ridge and the Trumörtenscharte (2442 m), a wonderful steep spring tour with snow gliders.

Niedere Tauern

|

The The "Lower Tauern" or "Niedere Tauern" are a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps, in the Austrian states of Salzburg and Styria. The highest (higher than 2700 m) peaks are:
1. Hochgolling 2862 m
2. Hochwildstelle 2747 m
3. Roteck 2742
4. Kasereck 2740 m
5. Preber 2740 m
6. Große Barbaraspitze 2726 m
7. Weißeck 2711 m
8. Waldhorn 2702 m
I visited all except the Kasereck, where I made three attempts and failed three times. All summits are part of the "Schladminger Tauern", only the "Weißeck" is situated in the "Radstädter Tauern". No. 3 and 5 are in the centre of this image, taken from Kasereck east ridge. The small lake down there has no name, but I call it "Arling Lake" because of the name "Arling" of the cirque. - scanned slide
