Furkapass - Rhone glacier
Near to the Furkapass east ramp and hotel Belvedere is the mighty and beautiful Rhone glacier. I inserted a PiP with the newest Google Street Map view. The retreat is horrible. The red line, which I have drawn, marks the glacier in 1997. If you look carefully, you can identify the lateral moraine. - scanned slide, Minolta X700 - pass no. 25 - Furkapass (2436 m), Switzerland - day 5
