I had no idea this was a major 'thing' of yours, Bernie! While I can't say I'm an expert I used to ride bikes (a long time ago) and took a passing interest in the classics of the day and earlier.

I remember Puch as providing the sort of 125 cc mopeds it was legal for 16 year olds to ride and a few (not me) had them at school.
I can't pretend to understand all the technical descriptions but I got the general idea of what you needed to do and I have to say, 'what a supremely impressive accievent!' (and not a bad looking bike at the end of it all)! Very well done!!
Oh, and I want to say, I always thought you were British! Your English is so good!

The reason why I'm writing here in English (mostly) is to practice my poor school Englisch, otherwise I would forget everything ;-) I once had a nice Puch collection from 50 to 800 ccm, unfortunately gone. This here is the last bike I built/restored.

Hast du den deutschsprachigen Artikel auf Wikipedia zur Brough Superior SS100 JTOR verfasst? Auf jeden Fall beeindruckend. Und welches Motorrad darf schon im Wohnzimmer stehen ;)

Ich hoffe, ich bekomme sie nächste Woche auf die Straße. Im Wohnzimmer darf sie dann wieder stehen, wenn ich so alt bin, dass ich Stützräder brauche ;-)

Das war nur der Endzusammenbau im Wintergarten. Im Winter war es zu kalt in der Garage zum basteln......

Ja der Venti war teuer. Die Maschine ging so ;-) Hoffentlich schaffe ich es bald auf die Straße und nicht nur au's Titelblatt. Hat übrigens 1150 ccm das Ding und läuft theoretisch mindestens 100 Meilen/h, daher die Typenbezeichnung SS100. Ich bin froh wenn ich mich trau, mal 100 km/h zu fahren ;-)) Und übrigens hat sich Laurence von Arabien mit genau so einer dastessn. Danke Dir!

Ja, das war in der Nähe seines Hauses in Dorset. Ohne Helm gefahren und Radfahrer ausgewichen.....

Hab' mich gerade via wikipedia & Street View kundig gemacht - idyllische Gegend, mal abgesehen vom Bovington Camp.
War noch nicht so richtig üblich damals, mit einem guten Helm zu fahren ...

Sie ist schon länger fertig, hab allerdings aufgrund Dir bekannter Gründe, Probleme sie durch die Garage auf die Straße zu bekommen - Weg versperrt :( Solche Deckenmixer (guter Ausdruck) hab ich 3 im Haus, blau, orange und hellgrün ;-))

I started in 1955 with a Gilera B300 two cilinders but just as a simple single rider.
Not High Cavalry like you.

PS.: today I still have a BMW 1150GS in the garage for occasional trips.

Since 1972, when I got my drivers license, I was always more working and restoring than driving, so you will have much more experience on the road ;-)) I had many BMW's since then, a 1927 R42, 1928 R57 (my favorite, used it for many trips), a 1938 R 51 (my very first bike), a 1954 R68 (my 2nd bike) and some others, which were never driven or restored. Some years ago I also had a F800 GS, which I sold, because it was a little bit too high for my size ;-)) The 1150GS is a legend. Many thanks José!
