Gute Frage!
Ich denke, dass die Namensgebung mit der französischen Besetzung Oberösterreichs während des Zweiten Koaslitionskrieges um 1800 zu tun hat, die das Land in Folge 16 Jahre lang in Angst und Schrecken hielt.
