LIGHT ON/LIGHT OFF

I never considered myself religious. I feel I believe in God. I think there is something (and not someone) beyond the limits of our knowledge, which explains or would explain if we could question it, why we are here, and what is the purpose of all this.

And I have a kind of faith that I will live beyond death to discover the answer to these questions, simply because it is intolerable that we will never discover them, that our consciousness disappears with death, like an electric lamp that turns off.

Nunca me considerei religioso. Acho que acredito em Deus. Ou seja, acho que existe algo (e não alguém) para além ds limites do nosso conhecimento, que explica, ou explicaria, se pudéssemos interrogá-lo, por que razão estamos aqui e qual o objectivo de tudo isto.

E tenho uma espécie de fé de que vou viver para além da morte para descobir a resposta a estas questões, simplesmente porque é intolerável pensar que nunca as descobriremos, que a nossa consciência desaparece com a morte, como um candeeiro eléctrico que se desliga.
