"THE GLORIOUS DEATH OF THE SCORPION" - title in English

I don't write rhymed poetry much less sonnet, I'm not able, - it's as if the rhyme or the pre-established format forced me to say what I want in an unexpected, adapted, or artificial way -, but Lauro PORTUGAL (LP) is enabled enough.

His rhyme is as natural and masterful as that of CAMÕES or BOCAGE; the comparison isn't my folly. LP is a great rhyme living poet, - although some say it's not fashionable, what is good and modern are a few metaphors without meaning, music, or beauty -. Lies! Bullshit!

The poet without rhyme I am can tell LP that his poetry is surprising and effusive, satirical and sharp, beautiful and musical, in such a way a constant melody rings on our ears.

THE DOOR

You opened the door of this heart
And you entered with such serenity
That the storm soon calmed down
And order prevailed in the confusion.

Shadow has given way to light,
Music erupts from the hall,
Life has gained a new dimension,
Who tells me is there no happiness?

If one day you don't wish to stay
You only have one choice: call
The firemen to leave,

Cause the door you entered through
Was locked soon after you closed
And from inside no one can open it.

Eu não faço poesia rimada muito menos soneto, não sou capaz, - é como se a rima ou o formato pre-estabelecido me obrigasse a dizer o que quero de forma inesperada, adaptada, ou artificial -, mas o Lauro PORTUGAL (LP) é competente para tal.

A sua rima é tão natural e magistral como a de CAMÕES ou do BOCAGE; a compaação não é estultícia minha. LP é um grande poeta vivo da rima, - muito embora alguns digam que não está na moda, o que é bom e moderno são meia dúzia de metáforas sem entido, nem música, nem beleza -. Balelas! Tretas!

O poeta sem rima que sou diz ao LP que a sua poesia é surpreendente e esfusiante, satírica e acutilante, bela e musical, tal como se soasse uma constante melodia aos nossos ouvidos.

A PORTA

Abriste a porta deste coração
E entraste com tal serenidade
Que logo se acalmou a tempestade
E a ordem se impôs na confusão.

A sombra deu lugar à claridade,
A música irrompe do salão,
A vida ganhou nova dimensão,
Quem me diz que não há felicidade?

Mas se um dia já não quiseres ficar
Só tens uma hipótese: chamar
Os bombeiros para poder sair,

Que essa porta por onde entraste
Trancou-se no momento em que a fechaste
E por dentro ninguém a pode abrir.
