To be a wave,
to run foamy fingers on the sand
and undo the castles you sow
around your body.
Afterwards, just to be the wind that surrounds you.

VÉSPERA

Ser onda,
correr dedos de espuma sobre a areia
e desfazer os castelos que semeias
à volta do teu corpo.
Depois, ser apenas o vento que o rodeia.

(*) José NÚNCIO, Coronel do Exército reformado, meu camarada de armas e grande amigo, morreu prematuramente. Depois de se reformar tornou-se um grande escultor de renome internacional.

Espírito inquieto e muito sensível, sempre escreveu, mas só publicou um livro em vida, "LUNAÇÕES ÍNTIMAS" (Intimate Lunations), por mim incentivado.

Frequentemente apelidava-me de "Poeta de Síntese", mas também ele soube deduzir as fórmulas dos sentimentos e emoções da vida, com conteúdo, modernidade e beleza.

José NÚNCIO, Army Colonel retired, my comrade of arms and great friend, died prematurely. After retirement, he became an internationally well known and most appreciated sculptor.

With a restless and very sensitive mind, he always wrote, but published only a single book in his lifetime, "LUNAÇÕES ÍNTIMAS" (Intimate Lunations), encouraged by me.

Very often he called me a "Synthesis Poet", but he also knew how to deduce the short formulas upon feelings and life sensations, with content, modernity and beauty.
