Monastery of São Vicente de Fora

The original monastery was found around 1147 by the first King of Portugal, D.Afonso Henriques. The present buildings are a result of its reconstrction by the King Philip II of Spain, and also the I of Portugal, after the 1580 dinastic crisis. The church of the monastery was built between 1582 and 1629, in Renaissance style known as Manneirism
