When I sleep I do not usually think. Until
the morning encloses me on the frame of a
strange desire to leave. What I can
define as an old fidelity quietness.
I answer to the phone call from a friend with ritual
voice and by a while I retract myself into the photos
with which I lit your sleepless nights.
I unfurl a sail and
accustom the body to a black wool. I return
to my Island, Atlantis of traces. And I smile.
I smile until the clock claims me for
another night. Without mystery. Only
night.

Quando durmo não costumo pensar. Até que
a manhã me enclausure na esquadria de uma
estranha vontade de partir. A que posso
designar sossego de uma fidelidade antiga.
Atendo o telefone de um amigo de voz
ritual e brevemente me recolho às fotografias
com que te iluminei em noites de insónia.
Abro uma vela e
habituo o corpo a uma lã negra. Volto para
a minha ilha, atlântida de vestígios. E sorrio.
Sorrio até que o relógio me reclame para
uma outra noite. Sem mistério. Apenas
noite.
