Entrance to the park. The rainbow flag of the Navajo Nation (left) is flown alongside the Arizona State flag and U.S. flag.
This is where it starts: the meeting place for the Navajo tour guides and tourists, access into the park and to various overlooks along the rim of the canyon. Only authorized NPS (National Park Service) personnel and Navajo guides are allowed to lead and conduct tours inside the the canyon.
There's also a visitor's centre with small exhibits, a bookshop, and occasionally a jewellery making demonstration.
