Sitting right outside the Holiday Inn, where we were staying.

It's not often you get to see such a fine (let alone intact!) example of a historical remnant of the past like this (except in the movies). If only those wagon wheels could talk! What a story they could tell.

Chinle itself, is a dreary outpost of trailer and pre-fab homes, wandering dogs, and an unemployment rate four times greater than in the rest of Arizona. The main source of income is the tourist trade that thrives from the nearby Canyon de Chelly.
