Frasassi - Aufstieg zu INFRASAXA und dem Valadier-Tempel
Im Jahr 1828 ließ Papst Leo XII (Hannibal Genga; 1760-1829) nach Plänen des italienischen Architekten Giuseppe Valadier eine größere Kirche mit achteckigem Grundriss mit einer bleibedeckten Kuppel errichten. Das neue Gotteshaus wurde vollkommen aus weißen Travertinblöcken errichtet, die aus einer Höhle über der Grotte gewonnen wurden.
Die Grotten von Frasassi befinden sich in Genga, in der Nähe von Fabriano.
