EsG33 Nomophila noctuella (Rush Veneer)

Crambidae, Spilomelinae Wingspan: 30mm.

A widespread common Pyralid in Europe, often migrating in large numbers, some arriving along the south coastal areas of the UK. Only one appeared in our trapping sessions at this site. Although this specimen is fairly plainly coloured, many of the wing areas in some specimens are darker brown, almost black, making quite distinctive patterning.
