KS085 Cerynea contentaria

Noctuidae, Acontiinae - Wingspan: 20mm.
A single specimen came to the trap on the 10th September. My thanks to Ryan, below, for the ID. However, I cannot find any indication that this Genus has been transferred to Erebidae, so have left it in the Noctuidae Family, which is still used in the Boldsystems and NHM databases, as well as in the Wikipedia reference. Currently, this species is not referred to in the Boldsystems database, but is listed in Wikipedia.

Erebidae, Boletobiinae, Aventiini
Tony James club has replied to Ryan BrookesNote that punctilinealis which has been considered a synonym of contentaria for over a century is treated as a valid species here. If it is true that the two are not conspecific, for reasons unknown to me, then punctilinealis is probably the name to go with given its widespread distribution (see p.77).
