42b Lightning Display

Not an easy subject to take with an automatic digital camera, particularly at night when the camera doesn't have anything to focus on in the dark, and it doesn't have a "B"-setting. I think this focus was achieved on the small green lights along the horizon, which were local fishing boats catching Squid around a submerged reef. The mainland of Thailand is behind them in the far distance, and seemed to be the main focus of the storms as they came in off the China Sea.
This storm, like a lot in the Tropics, was mainly cloud to cloud arcs, but through the horizon murk, there is apparently a cloud to sea strike as well.
From the hotel restaurant, we could sit and watch the free fireworks display most nights whilst having a leisurely evening meal.
