Katiannidae, Genus nov.1 sp. nov.

A lovely specimen of the Globular Springtail, Katiannidae, Genus nov.1 sp. nov. February 10th 2018, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. This one was about 1mm in length.

Thank you Thérèse, very much appreciated. They are actually a group all on their own and not related to any of the true bugs. Their common name in English is Springtail, in France I believe they are known as Collembole. You can find very detailed information on them at Frans Janssens website, www.collembola.org/index.html In hope that is of help and interest to you.
